Description
Engineered flooring was designed to allow actual hardwood flooring to more readily withstand environmental shifts, specifically humidity and temperature. This happened in the ’60s and directly led to the invention of laminate flooring, which solved the same problems. They each have their benefits, those of engineered wood floors being that they are still actual hardwood floors.
